About the CoP
A Community of Practice (CoP) is defined as: “A group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.”[1]
CoPs are usually informal, self-organising, and can cross disciplinary and organizational boundaries.
As such, the aim of the Researcher Resilience CoP is to create a space for graduate students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) conducting research on sensitive topics to come together in the shared interest of promoting and prioritizing emotional wellbeing.

The Researcher Resilience CoP Leadership Team was established in June 2020 in response to the Universitas 21 Researcher Resilience Fund call for projects.
The CoP Leads, from three international universities and representing various disciplinary backgrounds, met regularly for 6 months to establish the CoP’s objectives, basic structure, membership recruitment, and launch plans.
The CoP was launched in February 2021 with membership exceeding 100 graduate students and early career researchers.
CoP virtual meetings are held every other month and to date have focused on establishing CoP terms of reference, relationship building, and connecting with other researchers working in the field of supporting graduate student wellbeing. Engagement is also facilitated through the CoP’s online collaboration platform.
